Antec releases GX500 entry-level gaming chassis

Antec’s GX500 comes in at $50 and is ideal for budget-conscious system builders.



Antec’s GX500 has been available for a while now, but is now seeing global availability. The budget-focused chassis features a lot of room for cable management and comes with the ability to accommodate large video cards. The mid-tower enclosure can fit in motherboards of ATX/Micro-ATX/Mini-ITX form factors.

The enclosure comes with two 120 mm fans at the front and a 120mm fan at the rear. In addition, three 120 mm fans can be installed in the case. There is also room for installing a 240 mm liquid-cooled radiator in the chassis. The GX500 features two 5.25-inch drive bays, five 3.5-inch bays, (one external) and one 2.5-inch bay (instead of one 3.5-inch bay). Video cards of length 380 mm can fit into the enclosure, while CPU coolers 158 mm in height can also be accommodated. The front panel has two USB 3.0 ports as well as audio connectors.

Antec has announced that the GX500 will cost $50 in the US and $73 (£44) in Europe.
