Check out these design prototypes from the early days of Apple


New book Keep It Simple: The Early Design Years of Apple gives an inside look at some of the first prototypes from longtime Apple designer Hartmut Esslinger.




For the last half-decade Apple has been the leader in industrial design, defining form factors and being shamelessly copied by companies around the world.

But the industrial design of products like the Macbook or iPhone wasn’t created in a vacuum. As the recently released book Keep It Simple: The Early Design Years of Apple (available now on Amazon) details, longtime Apple designer Hartmut Esslinger was toying with many of the design concepts we see in contemporary Apple products back in Apple’s formative years in the 1980s.



When Steve Jobs left Apple for NeXT, Esslinger followed him there leaving a $2-million a year contract behind.
