Titanfall will not feature micro-transactions and will get a season pass that lets users access all paid DLC, as well as access additional in-game content.
Respawn Entertainment founder Vince Zampella said in an interview that Titanfall will get both paid as well as free DLC. He also said that the game would feature a Season Pass that consists of all the DLC and in-game content. Buying a Season pass would be affordable to paying for individual DLC. Furthermore, it was confirmed that Titanfall will not have micro-transactions as was earlier rumoured.
Features like private matches will be added for free.
“We’re going to add in — there’s things that we want in the game that we didn’t get to ship in the final game, so we’ll add private matches and things like that for free. We’re going to do a season pass just because if you buy it up front, you get a deal. We’re not doing micro-transactions. So, you know, a season pass is just, buy it up front and get a better price,”*Zampella said.
Paid DLC content will likely be in the form of new map packs. Titanfall is launching next week on the PC and Xbox One. The Xbox 360 port of the game will be launching on March 25.
