Apple TV and Roku competitor was in development but was cancelled for unknown reasons.
The set-top box that Blackberry, or RIM as it was then known, was rumored to be developing in 2010-2011 has seen the light of day thanks to the Crackberry forums.
Crackberry forum user “isaac708″ posted pictures of the unreleased set-top box which he claims he acquired from a liquidator clearing out old equipment from Blackberry HQ.

There wasn’t an official reason why the Cyclone set-top box project was scrapped, but in likelihood the project was cancelled after the Blackberry Playbook flopped and management decided to double down on its efforts to get BB10 out the door .
