It makes sense considering Google is known to launch a new Nexus mobile device sometime in the month of October, as was the case with both the Nexus 4 and Nexus 5. Earlier today, a source in the know mentioned to Gizmodo’s German site that the Nexus 6 will indeed by manufactured by LG and that it would be a lightweight version of the as yet unannounced LG G3.
LG is said to launch the G3 sometime in the second quarter. The device is said to feature a 5.5-inch Quad-HD screen and is said to be an iterative revision of the G2. It might be the first mobile device feature LG’s custom SoC, which is also set to be announced in the second quarter. However, other rumors indicated that LG will also be using Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 805 SoC. Other hardware details are set to be in line with what other manufacturers are offering in their flagship devices: 2 or 3 GB RAM, 13 MP camera with image stabilization (a feature that is still only seen on LG, Nokia and HTC handsets) and a large battery.
If the G3 does feature a QHD screen, it is feasible that the same makes its way onto the Nexus 6.
