Huawei’s TalkBand is an activity tracker that doubles as a Bluetooth headset

The TalkBand B1 is the first hybrid wearable device and combines a fitness tracker with a Bluetooth headset.

Huawei’s first offering in the wearable device segment is a fitness tracker that also functions as a Bluetooth headset. The TalkBand B1 features a 1.4-inch flexible OLED screen that shows incoming notifications from connected devices. Devices can be easily paired thanks to NFC connectivity, and notifications are handled via Bluetooth 4.1 LE. The smartband comes with a built-in step counter and calorie counter that allows you to check calories burnt over the course of a day.

While these functions are offered by similar wearable devices, the TalkBand’s screen also features an integrated Bluetooth earpiece that allows you to take calls. You can remove the screen from the wristband and use the Bluetooth earpiece to easily answer incoming calls while you’re on the move. The device works with all Android devices running Android 2.3 and above and iDevices running iOS 5.0 and above. The screen unit comes with a 90 mAh battery that Huawei claim can provide seven hours of talk time and two weeks of standby time. The TalkBand can be charged via the wristband, which features a micro-UDB charging port.

Huawei announced that the TalkBand B1 will be available from March 2014 for $136.
