HTC One sequel to be called One+, sport 4MP UltraPixel camera

The low-resolution camera on the HTC One was one of the few sore points on its spec sheet, and rumor suggests it will continue to be so on the HTC One’s sequel as well.

That the second-generation One – which is supposedly titled the HTC One+ – would sport an UltraPixel camera was all but a certainty, but its megapixel count is a detail that has continued to elude us. Given the criticism the One faced over its camera’s inability to resolve much detail, one would have expected the company would increase the megapixel rating. However, according to insider information received by PhoneArena , that won’t be the case, as the One+ will sport the same old 4-megapixel UltraPixel camera.

Disappointing, though if the rumor about the HTC One+ sporting separate sensors for daylight and low-light photography holds true, it’s possible the device will be able to capture better photos in standard lighting conditions than its predecessor. If not, we can hope to see it at least be as good as the HTC One in low-light scenarios, where HTC’s acclaimed flagship does manage to hold its own against the competition.
