Motorola could launch the Moto X in Europe

The U.S. exclusivity of the Moto X is one of of its very few downsides, but that’s something that might change in the near future.

At the launch of the Moto G,*Marcus Frost, Motorola’s Senior Marketing Director for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, told TechRadar:*“The reception of Moto X has been fantastic and we’re continuously perusing opportunities in the EMEA region, so really watch this space.” To add to the speculation-inducing statement of Frost,*Motorola’s Vice President for EMEA, Magnus Ahlqvist, added: “We are serious about Europe and we want to bring strong propositions to the market.”

The wording was vague, but it does seem like the rumored 500,000 Moto X sales since launch (a good figure, considering the device is available only in the US) could drive Motorola to launch the handset in a few more countries, perhaps after the Moto G is made available in all its intended markets. More than a few folks have expressed disappointment at the fact that Motorola chose to keep its hero device in its home country, and for their sake, let’s hope a launch in Europe does happen, and that it brings along the customization that makes the Moto X such an attractive device, among other factors.
