HTC Desire 601 to go on sale tomorrow

The mid-range handset offers some of the highly popular features found on its HTC One flagship cousin such as BlinkFeed and BoomSound, at a wallet-friendly price.

HTC has announced that the latest addition to the Desire line of mid-range handsets, the Desire 601, will be available in Singapore from tomorrow for S$498 contract-free.

Unlike the dual-SIM Desire 600, the 601 sports a design that resembles more closely to the HTC One flagship — immediately evident from the curved corners and dual front-facing speakers. On the front, you will be greeted by a 4.5-inch qHD (960 x 540) resolution display with a modest but functional pixel density of 245ppi. Under the hood, you will find a 1.4GHz dual-core Snapdragon 400 SoC running the show, accompanied by 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. At the back, you get a 5MP rear camera that will, albeit not of an Ultrapixel breed, allow you to capture those HTC Zoe 3-second mini clips.

The device runs Android 4.2.2 out of the box with the much-commended Sense 5.0 overlay that boasts features like HTC BlinkFeed. In terms of connectivity options, you get your run-of-the-mill LTE and Bluetooth 4.0 but no NFC, unfortunately.

The HTC Desire 601 will be available in Polar White and Stealth Black from all mobile operators and authorized retailers.
